Development of economic groups in Latin America, case of study: Ecuador

Period: August 2024 - February 2026. 

Purpose: This study identifies the microeconomic characteristics of the economic groups in Latin America and their influence on macroeconomic and social variables in the region, using Ecuador as a case study. 

The effect of corporate governance in the firm value: Evidence from the Korean market

Involved Institutions: Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA),  Kumoh National Institute of Tecnology (Republic of Korea)

Position: Director 

Period: August 2023 - February 2025. 

Purpose: This study scrutinizes the controlling and significant posture of corporate governance to the relationship between leverage and firm value using Korean market data. 

Social and demographic determinants of youth unemployment in Ecuador, 2019

Period: December 2022 - June 2024. 

Purpose: This study determines the main factors that influence the probability of unemployment in the 18-29 age group in Ecuador. 

Retionship between customer satisfaction, loyalty, and financial performance in the Ecuadorian banking industry 

Involved Institutions: Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA), Hanyang University (Republic of Korea)

Position: Director 

Period: April 2022 - April 2023. 

Purpose: This study examines the simultaneous  relationship between the degree of customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, and how these two variables impact on the financial performance of private banking entities in Ecuador during the period of 2016-2021. It also includes the sex of the client as a moderation variable to determine the difference between groups (women, men and combined) respected to the criteria of satisfaction and fidelity to access to financial products and services.


The effect of real earnings management in the Korean market

Position: Director 

Period: October 2021 - October 2022. 

Purpose: This study examines whether real earnings management (REM) affects firm value by introducing quarterly financial data in the Korean market.
